On 13 April 2020, the Moscow government introduced a digital permit system aimed at further restricting movement. Under the new scheme, which becomes mandatory from 15 April, people need to apply for permits to travel on public transport or a vehicle around the city. Since 30 March 2020, Moscow has been on lockdown.
